An ERPNext support AMC (annual maintenance contract) is a yearly agreement in which a partner fixes issues, answers user questions, applies updates and keeps your ERPNext healthy after go-live. Published price guides from Indian ERPNext partners put AMCs between about ₹30,000 and ₹2.5 lakh a year, depending on users, customisation and response times.
What matters more than the price is what the contract actually covers. This guide explains typical AMC scope, pricing models and the questions to ask before you sign.
Who this is for: owners, finance heads and IT leads of businesses already running ERPNext, whether self-implemented or set up by another partner, in India (including Kozhikode and Kerala) and the GCC: the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah), Qatar (Doha), Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman (Muscat).
Key takeaways
- Published AMC ranges from Indian ERPNext partners run from about ₹30,000 a year for basic plans to ₹1.2–2.5 lakh or more for premium or heavily customised systems, before 18% GST.
- A good AMC covers bug fixes, user support, minor changes, version upgrades and compliance updates. New features and integrations are usually extra.
- Frappe, the company behind ERPNext, fixes core product bugs on some plans. Your partner handles first-line support, configuration and custom code.
- Ask in writing about response times, upgrade policy, custom app coverage and exit terms.
- Taking over a system built by someone else? Expect a one-time review before any AMC starts.

ERPNext AMC cost in India: published ranges
Nexeves does not publish AMC prices because we scope them per system. To give you a market view, here are ranges from published guides by other Indian ERPNext partners (all before GST):
| Plan type | Published annual range | Typical scope |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | About ₹30,000–₹60,000 | Bug fixes and email support, standard setups |
| Standard | About ₹60,000–₹1,20,000 | Adds version updates, compliance patches, priority support |
| Premium / custom | About ₹1,20,000–₹2,50,000+ | Adds development hours, faster response, heavily customised or multi-entity systems |
One partner guide puts a typical SME AMC at ₹80,000–₹2.5 lakh a year. Another advertises AMC from ₹50,000 a year, including one version upgrade, plus a ₹10,000 one-time review for systems built by others.
A common rule of thumb is 15–25% of the original implementation fee per year. GST at 18% applies on top.
For how AMC fits a full first-year budget, see our ERPNext implementation cost guide for India.
Common ERPNext AMC pricing models
- Fixed annual fee: predictable. Check what counts as "minor" so you know where the line is.
- Percentage of implementation: simple, but may not reflect how much support you actually use.
- Hour bank or retainer: a set number of hours a month or year. Good when you expect regular small changes.
- Pay per ticket or per hour: cheapest when things are stable, expensive and slow when they aren't.
Many businesses combine a fixed AMC for support and upgrades with an hour bank for enhancements.

Frappe support vs partner support: who does what?
ERPNext is built by Frappe Technologies. Support is usually split into levels:
- Level 1 (your partner): user questions, configuration, data issues, training, custom apps and integrations.
- Level 2 (Frappe): confirmed bugs in the core product. On Frappe Cloud, the ₹4,100-a-month shared plan includes Frappe support for bug fixes in ERPNext, Frappe HR and the framework (see the Frappe Cloud plan details).
Frappe does not answer "how do I do this in ERPNext?" questions or fix custom code. That is why most businesses still need a partner AMC even when the hosting is on Frappe Cloud. Hosting costs are separate; compare them in our ERPNext hosting cost guide.
Response times and SLAs to ask for
There is no standard ERPNext SLA. These are reasonable questions to put in writing, with the partner filling in the times:
| Priority | Example | What to agree |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Billing or POS down, cannot post invoices | First response and workaround targets, plus who to call outside hours |
| High | A key report or workflow broken for one team | Response time and target fix time |
| Normal | Print format change, permission request | Response time and batch delivery schedule |
| Low | Questions, suggestions | Response time; may be handled in refresher sessions |
Upgrades: the biggest hidden cost in ERPNext support
ERPNext ships regular minor releases and a new major version every year or two. Each major upgrade can break custom code, scripts and print formats. Before signing an AMC, ask:
- Are major version upgrades included? How many per year?
- Is testing done on a staging copy before your live site is upgraded?
- Who fixes custom apps that break after an upgrade, and is that inside the fee?
- How long can you stay on an older version before the partner stops supporting it?
Heavy customisation makes every upgrade more expensive. Our posts on the risks of ERPNext over-customisation and on an ERPNext upgrade strategy explain how to keep this under control. If you need new features, our ERPNext customisation services are scoped separately from support.
ERPNext support in the GCC: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman
For GCC companies, the support questions are the same, plus:
- Time zone and working week: agree support hours that match your office in Dubai, Riyadh or Doha.
- Tax and e-invoicing changes: VAT settings and e-invoicing requirements, such as Saudi Arabia's ZATCA e-invoicing and the UAE's upcoming e-invoicing programme, change over time. Confirm whether compliance updates are inside the AMC or quoted separately.
- Arabic print formats and payroll: bilingual invoices and payslips need maintenance after upgrades too.
Switching ERPNext support partners
Many businesses come to a new partner after a previous one went quiet. A clean handover looks like this:
- Secure access: admin login, server or Frappe Cloud access, and source code for any custom apps, all in your name.
- System review: version, custom apps, scripts, integrations, backups and open issues documented.
- Stabilise: fix urgent issues and make backups reliable.
- Start the AMC with a written scope based on what the review found.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an ERPNext AMC cost in India?
Published guides from Indian ERPNext partners put annual AMCs at about ₹30,000–₹60,000 for basic plans, ₹60,000–₹1.2 lakh for standard plans and ₹1.2–2.5 lakh or more for premium or heavily customised systems, before 18% GST. The price depends on users, customisation, upgrades and response times.
What does an ERPNext AMC include?
A typical ERPNext AMC includes bug fixes, user support, small report and print format changes, minor updates, often one major version upgrade a year, compliance updates and backup checks. New features, integrations, large reports and hosting fees are usually extra, so get the scope in writing before you sign.
Do I need an AMC if I host ERPNext on Frappe Cloud?
Usually yes. Frappe Cloud handles hosting, and its ₹4,100 plan includes Frappe support for core product bugs, but that does not cover how-to questions, configuration, data issues or custom apps. A partner AMC covers that first-line support and manages upgrades with your customisations.
Can a new partner support ERPNext set up by someone else?
Yes. Most partners start with a one-time review of your version, custom apps, integrations, backups and open issues, then quote an AMC based on what they find. Make sure admin access, server access and the source code of any custom apps are in your company's name.
Are ERPNext version upgrades included in AMC?
It varies. Many plans include minor updates and one major version upgrade a year, but fixing heavily customised code after an upgrade is often charged separately. Ask whether upgrades are tested on a staging copy first and how long your partner supports older versions.
Do Nexeves AMCs cover GCC companies?
Yes. Nexeves supports ERPNext users across India and the GCC, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. We agree support hours that fit your working week and confirm in writing whether VAT and e-invoicing changes are inside the AMC or quoted separately.
